Nokia N8 Launching Today in India , those who Pre-Ordered get it first

Nokia is officially launching the N8 in India today and is holding an event in Mumbai. Those of you who had pre-ordered the device might get a call from your Nokia store asking you to pick up your shiny new N8. If you don’t get a call, make sure you call up the store and ask them about the delivery. You might have to wait for your turn to arrive.Although the MRP has been revealed , there is not much clarity about the final price of the N8 in India. As usual , the price will vary from state to state.

India Planning Its Own Computer Operating System

Defense Research and Development Organization (DROD) of India is putting a dedicated team of 50 software professionals in the Bangalore and Delhi software development centers to develop an operating system (OS) of its own.Dr V K Saraswat, Scientific Adviser to the Defense Minister of India told India times that he just set up a software center in Delhi for that task. The effort will be headed by DROD in partnership with software companies and academic institutions.Saraswat, told that the efforts to build India own operating system is based on security needs to thwart attempts of cyber attacks and data theft, rather than relying on western Operating systems “Only way to protect it is to have a home-grown system, the complete architecture…source code is with you and then nobody knows what’s that.”
